Rescheduled Festive Forest Race

At present, Saturday 10th February is still looking like the best date. We are awaiting confirmation from the Forestry Commission but suggest you keep this date free meantime. Once the date is confirmed, we will send out an email with full details and seeking entries.

Devil’s Burden Relays

The Devils Burden Relays will take place on 27thJanuary. Full details of the route can be found on Fife AC’s website: http://www.fifeac.org/events/fife-ac-events/devils-burdens/1277-devil-s-burdens-2018.html.

Kevin issued provisional details of the teams, but these are likely to change due to a number of recent call-offs. As a result we are now short of at least one lady to make up a team. If anyone is still interested in taking part, it’s not too late to put your name down. The more the merrier as it would be good to have some reserves in case of any further calls offs due to illness or injury.

There are another two recces scheduled as follows:

Recce of Legs 2/3 – Saturday 13th January. Meet 09.20 at the Falkland duck pond, where we will jump back in some cars, round to Strathmiglo community hall for a half 9 ish start. We will begin with leg 2, running to West Lomond and then come back down the track which will allow us to recce the end of leg 3. Check out maps below:

All members are welcome to attend all recce runs, but they are especially recommended to those who will be taking part on the day, particularly as the order of running could change.

Devilla Forest Races

Thanks to everyone who responded to the recent email asking for volunteers to help out on the day. As a result we now have around 50 names on the list, which is great, but could ideally do with a few more just to make sure we can cover all the duties, and in case of last

minute call-offs. Therefore if you, or indeed any family members, are able to assist, and you have not already been in touch, please let Allan know as soon as possible by email to [email protected].

Allan has set some provisional dates for recce runs of the route – further details will be issued shortly. These are beneficial, not only to those hoping to run on the day, but also for those who will carrying out marshalling duties.
