We are based at Pitreavie Sport and Soccer Centre, Pitreavie Playing Fields, Queensferry Road, Dunfermline, which offers changing and showering facilities along with a cafe where members can socialise after training. There are alternative meeting points for some of our sessions to which members can go directly if more convenient – full details are notified in advance .
Our official training nights are Tuesday and Thursday at 6.30 pm. After allowing time to arrive at the session venue, we hold a group mobility warm-up at 6:50 pm before the session proper begins. Members are asked to be there in good time so we can start the sessions promptly.
At other times throughout the year, resources permitting, we aim to offer sessions in cross country and off-road running, or hill training at various locations, as well as organising additional training runs, or recces of race routes, which are open to all members.
Our structured, progressive training sessions are designed to help improve the fitness and performance of our members, regardless of speed or ability. These sessions provide an opportunity to make new friends, explore new routes and exchange training ideas. Running in a group encourages you to get out and run and to work harder than you would on your own and you benefit from the advice and support of others.

For the competitive runner there are plenty of opportunities to test their abilities. We encourage members to represent the club in local, District and National events, both as individuals and as part of a team.
We currently offer three, members only, Grand Prix series over the course of a year, one covering road races, one covering off-road (trail and cross country) races and the final one covering hill races.
We encourage members to take part but there is no obligation to do so if you are more interested in social or fitness running. Points are awarded for each race and prizes are presented to overall winners and age category winners.
In addition, we have an All Rounders Competition (ARC) which combines the results from events across all our disciplines of road, trail and cross-country and hill running, with separate awards presented to category winners.
We also promote running by organising a number of events during the year starting with the ever-popular Devilla Forest 5K and 15K races in mid-February, followed by the Graham Clark Memorial Race in August comprising three loops of the iconic Knockhill Racing Circuit. These open races attract runners of all abilities. In mid-December we have our members-only Festive Forest Run in Blairadam Forest, which is usually followed by a social outing.
See ‘Our Races’ for more information.
However, it’s not all about training and racing, there’s a social side to running as well. Many races offer post-race buffets which are always a firm favourite with our members, giving them an opportunity to recall the events of the day and to mix with members from other clubs. We also enjoy going along to support our fellow club members in long distance races.
We get together regularly, either to enjoy informal social outings to local pubs or for more organised events such as meals and other functions.
