If you are not a member of the club then we hope the site will give you an insight into what the club is all about and encourage you to come along to one of our training sessions. The club meets for training at The Dunfermline Academy of Sport (formerly Powerleague), Pitreavie Playing Fields, Dunfermline, every Tuesday and Thursday at 6.15pm (for a 6.30pm start). The Academy of Sport offer superb changing / showering facilities along with a licensed bar and cafe.
We are a friendly club that welcomes new members of all abilities regardless of whether you are a serious competitor or just wanting to keep fit.
The race is incorporates the Scottish Athletics Hill Running Championships and is also the 8th counter in our Hill Running Grand Prix. Entries (£5) will be taken on the day from 12.30pm at Dollar Academy.
Tommy Lawrence currently leads the men's HR Grand Prix with 246 points while Fabienne Thompson and Alison West are joint leaders in the ladies competition on 150 points.
Ian Johnston enjoyed a strong run placing 2nd and 1st M50 in 12.03. Wee Country Harrier Graeme Wilson put in a good effort to finish 3rd overall and 1st M40 in 13.10 ahead of Carnegie's Ian McKinnell who clocked 13.31.
Well done to Susan Cederstrom (Carnegie) who won the ladies race in 14.20 finishing just ahead of club mate's Stephen Greer (14.22) and Phil Smithard (14.33). Carnegie's Clive Cable placed 8th overall in 15.57.
The 3rd and final race in the 2008 series will take place at 7.30pm on Friday 1st August over a distance of one mile.
Scott Bradley enjoyed another strong race finishing 2nd overall in 26.46 (PB) and with Ian Stewart placing 4th (1st M50) in 27.10 the men's team prize was won by Carnegie with a low scoring 7 points.
Well done to Lewis Lawson (6th in 27.41) and Dennis Howett (7th in 28.18) who both finished in the top ten. Several Harriers set personal bests including Alan Cockburn who clocked 30.37 (21st) and John Fulham who was 45th in 32.43.
Susan Cederstrom was the leading Carnegie lady timing at 34.59 finishing ahead of Angela Wallace who covered the fast and flat course in 36.53. Marianne Young was the third Carnegie lady home in a time of 37.58.
There was an excellent turnout of 26 Carnegie members amongst the 178 finishers. The event was the 9th counter in our Road Running Grand Prix in which Kenny MacDonald (311 points) and Angela Wallace (420 points) are the respective leaders. The 10th event is on Friday 18th July at the Beveridge Park 5K in Kirkcaldy.
Awards will be presented in all categories and a good turnout of runners is requested.
