Fiona Rennie all set to race around the clock
Carnegie's Fiona Rennie will represent Scotland this weekend in the Six Nations 24 Hour Ultra Race in Perth. This event was last staged in 2008 and Fiona covered an incredible 116 miles 837 yards finishing 3rd lady overall. The route in Perth's North Inch Park is around a paved 2.3km circuit and we wish Fiona the very best. Unfortunately, Fiona's twin sister and Scottish 24 Hour Record Holder Pauline Walker has had to withdraw for the race due to injury.

Several other events are taking place at the Perth Ultra Fest this weekend with Gail Murdoch and Scott Bradley competing in the National 100K Championships on Saturday. Helena Sim and Lynne Kuz are both running the National 50K Championships.

On Saturday evening, a Carnegie team of six runners will take part in the 12 Hour Mixed Relay Competition hoping to defend the title that they won in 2008.

All our runners are supported by a team of Carnegie members providing race support and Val Macaulay is the ladies 24 hour race Scottish team manager.

Hopefully a good number of Carnegie members will also make the short journey to Perth over the weekend to provide plenty encouragement.

Several other major events are taking place this weekend. The Ben Nevis Hill Race is on Saturday and the Great Scottish Run 10K and Half Marathon are on Sunday. Several Harriers are taking part in these races.

On Sunday, Andy Symonds set out to defend his GORE-TEX® Transalpine-Run title. This gruelling paired event involves 8 stages over the Alps.
