Top ten finish for Taylor at Great North West Half
Carnegie's Iain Taylor was amongst 881 runners taking part in Sunday's Great North West Half Marathon in Blackpool. The race was almost cancelled due to an overnight snowfall but a rapid thaw allowed it to go ahead with the competitors facing slushy underfoot conditions over the opening few miles.

Thankfully the weather didn't have any real impact on the event and with little wind it allowed for a good race on the two lap course on Blackpool's North promenade.

Iain recorded his fastest 13.1 miler since 1999 finishing strongly in 8th position overall in 1.17.17.
