All Rounder Competition - Latest Update
The number of counters for this All Rounder Competition (Hill, Road and Cross Country) is very low in some classes, non-existent in the Senior Ladies and after the successes of previous years, some diary juggling is needed amongst all you keen guys and gals to up the stakes and competition for the current leaders. It would be great to have the competition hanging on the final event at Blairadam Forest on the 19th December when we know there will be a great turnout.

A number of classes are still wide open and serious competition could be on the cards if people enter qualifying races. The next four weeks will be decisive with the hill races being the crux. There are one long race and one short to go.

The Road Series is now complete, so the options for some to be counters in the All Rounder Competition is gone if you did not run a Road Race this year. However, for those who have, your options for getting even ONE Hill Race are declining fast, so all effort to be applied to put one of the remaining two events into your diary. The shortest is the Tinto Hill Race on 7th November, which has been very popular from a club point of view in the last two years and quite rightly so, but the challenge of the Scottish Championship Race at Bagaduish, near Aviemore at the end of the month is also available.

Many did not run any Cross Country at the beginning of the year so there are six Cross Country events available in the recently published Grand Prix Series. No excuses - there were only 6 male and 1 female runners at the first League fixture last year - dreadful for a club our size. Remember, you can count one East District League event - there are two available, one of which is in Dunfermline and one from the four others including the Festive Forest Run.

GET THOSE DIARIES OUT - NOW!!

Phil Smithard.
